Responsibilities And Career Competencies
- Working patient up for eye exam. (C, P, CSD, CTR, T)
- Getting patient history prior to eye exam. (C, P, CSD, T)
- Providing necessary testing to get patient ready for exam. (C, P, CSD, CT, T)
- Assisting the optometrists during exam, as needed. (CSD, P, TW)
- Helping patients in choosing frames, taking measurements, and adjusting glasses. (C, TW, P, CSD, CT, CTR)
- Calling patients for various reasons, such as to schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments. (C, T)
- Other duties shared among employees, such as organizing and light cleaning. (TW, P)
Qualifications
- Enrolled full-time and in good standing at UPIKE.
- Interest in optometry as a career.
- Students with coursework, experience, or academic interest in biomedical sciences.
- Willingness to carry oneself professionally in actions and appearance while in the workplace.

Additional Comments
- Student must work a minimum of 80 hours in the semester. Student must enroll concurrently into CVL 401: Integrated Internship Experience and successfully complete this course. Student will enroll in the 2 credit hour option for this position.
