The University of Pennsylvania New Bolton Center is seeking new team members to join our large animal veterinary hospital. Our large animal attendants play a vital role in the hospital, performing a variety of duties including cleaning patient stalls, daily feeding, and general upkeep of hospital areas. They also operate a variety of motorized equipment, including a dump truck, forklift, and tractor. Valid driver's license required.Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Perform general stall maintenance and cleanliness of patient areas, which include multiple barns and our Intensive Care Unit building. Provide daily feed and water for patients.
- Operate a variety of motorized equipment, including a forklift, tractor, and dump truck.
- Follow all biosecurity protocols outlined by hospital administration. This includes attending radiation training and following strict guidelines for specialized cases.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with colleagues. Display maturity and composure in challenging situations.
- Assist in patient recovery.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Large animal handling experience 1-2 years of experience required. Ability to operate a variety of motorized equipment, including forklift, tractor, and standard dump truck required. The ability to perform strenuous work and tolerate exposure to weather, chemicals, and allergens is required. Valid driver’s license required.
