Department Summary

University Advancement (UA) supports the University of Oregon's (UO) mission of providing exceptional teaching, discovery, and service by strategically positioning the university to create awareness, build long-term relationships, and secure resources that increase understanding and further its aims. Advancement Strategies and Technology Innovations (ASTI) is a collaborative unit that aligns key functions to empower Advancement goals. ASTI teams include Advancement Analytics and Reporting, Campaign, Digital First Strategy, Donor Relations and Advancement Communications, and Prospect Development. ASTI's integrated approach provides insights, tools, and coordination by identifying and cultivating donors, building lifelong connections, delivering data-informed strategies, compelling stories, and ensuring the success of the university's comprehensive fundraising campaign.

Position Summary

We are seeking to fill two Report Analyst positions, focusing on Annual Philanthropy or the Alumni Association.

The Report Analysts convert data into information for colleagues by building and maintaining reports to meet business needs. The Report Analysts play critical roles in supporting data-informed decision-making within the Annual Philanthropy team or UO Alumni Association, and the Advancement division. The positions are responsible for the development, maintenance, and documentation of Annual Philanthropy reports and dashboards in Evergreen (Salesforce), Novi (for Alumni Association) Marketing Cloud, and Tableau Cloud. The analysts collaborate closely with the Annual Philanthropy team or Alumni Association, and other end users to understand reporting needs, translate business requirements into actionable insights, and ensure data governance standards are upheld. In addition to technical reporting responsibilities, the role includes consulting and training functions. The analysts provide guidance and support to the Annual Philanthropy or Alumni Association teams, and other Advancement staff and campus partners on the effective use of reporting tools, contributes to training initiatives, and fosters a culture of data literacy. These positions also support continuous improvement through professional development, peer collaboration, and the promotion of best practices in fundraising analytics.

Minimum Requirements

  • College level courses in statistics (at least six quarter hours); research methods and techniques (e.g., research design, sampling, surveying, etc.); and computer software application or packages (e.g., Statistical Analyses System, Lotus 1-2-3, etc.); OR
  • Three years of experience assisting with the gathering, compiling, analyzing, and reporting of research information and statistical data plus assisting with the drafting of this information into narrative or statistical reports,; OR
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience.

Transcripts must be submitted for all required and/or related courses.

  • Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking, creative problem solving, and independent judgment.
  • Ability and willingness to balance frequent interruptions and competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with &/or ability to learn general office, fundraising, analysis and reporting specific software. This includes Microsoft Office suite of products, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Blackthorn, Apsona, Tableau Desktop, Novi (for Alumni Association), Tableau Prep Builder, Tableau Cloud, SPSS Modeler, fundraising CRMs, mapping software, and familiarity with a computer programming language.

  • Experience working in higher education fundraising or non-profit environment.
