The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of Financial Systems Analyst within the department of Finance. The UEE division leads the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives. As part of the event management role, the division is responsible for the planning and execution of a wide range of University events from Commencement to concerts and special events on football game weekends. The division is a major contributor of revenue to the University's mission and employs the largest number of staff on campus with over 1,200 full-time, part-time, temporary, and on-call staff.

Why this position?
The Financial Systems Analyst for University Enterprises and Events will report directly to the Financial Initiatives Program Manager for UEE, and serve as the primary liaison between Financial Systems, Information Services, UEE's OE Informational Technology team and other campus business/technical leads, to ensure required support is provided and to maximize the technical effectiveness and efficiency of department operations. The Financial Systems Analyst will work in supporting all technical operational aspects of financial accounting systems and custom programs, thus must be proficient in Tableau and Excel in helping to build financial productivity reporting and operational templates. This includes; assisting in implementing new systems, upgrading existing systems, providing end user support and training, testing and troubleshooting.

This position will collaborate with each functional area across the accounting department to ensure internal controls are implemented and maintained, systems are optimized and adherence to established accounting procedures are followed. The Financial Systems Analyst will assist to execute testing of new financial applications or upgrades/enhancements to existing applications, and will lead assistance to other UEE team-members/managers with regard to training and technical support on all UEE Financial systems and provide/maintain access and scheduling for such systems. This position will collaborate regularly with designated campus units to provide guidance on the budgeting processes and tools, and assist comprehensively with data entry, as needed, within the monthly forecasting and budgeting process. This role requires strong analytic and planning capabilities, a high attention to detail, strong collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to provide innovative solutions, as well as the ability to display a commitment to teamwork and collaborative problem solving, and completing special projects as assigned. The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the University.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates degree or up to 3 years of college/technical school
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience (accounting experience is preferred)
  • Financial management/accounting experience with the ability to use spreadsheets, databases, presentation and reporting tools
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and provide support to the UEE Finance Team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills needed to prepare and support budget proposals and create and maintain relationships across campus
  • Strong awareness of the need to maintain confidentiality in certain business matters
