Position Summary
This position exists to provide police services to the University Community by being the initial point of contact with the public and to ensure police, facilities, and parking personnel respond to calls for service.
Job Duties
Direct Police, Parking, and Facilities personnel via radio, paging, and telephone systems to calls for service by answering phones and monitoring radio and alarm systems to obtain information on level of assistance required. Tracking of officers and calls via Computer Aided Dispatch system wherein relevant information and times related to calls are entered. Query and monitoring of National and Colorado crime information systems for data requested by officers and of importance to law enforcement agencies. Query of vehicle registration information for Parking Services and criminal history information for background checks for several departments on campus.
Release of police records to public and other law enforcement agencies in compliance with State and Federal records laws; processing reports and data entry into records management system; distribution of copies of police reports to appropriate outside agencies and campus departments; receptionist duties at lobby window including: release of requested forms and applications, taking money and issuing receipts for reports and fingerprinting, advising personnel of meetings/appointments with persons at window.
Training and supervision of student dispatch employees; answering university switchboard, Facilities phones, ASAP phones and Counseling Center phones after hours; answering of Weld County Crimestopper phone line; maintaining on-call/call back schedules for various departments on campus; maintaining all reference materials (phone lists, SOP's, manuals) necessary for performance of job duties.
Minimum Qualifications
