Department Summary
The University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth is excited to announce the formation of its College of Nursing. This new college will help address the shortage of nurses in Texas, which has the second-fewest nurses per capita in the U.S.
Position Overview
The Student Navigator is responsible for supporting structured leadership development activities, serving as a liaison to university faculty, staff, and administrators, and facilitating cohort participation in university functions. Additionally, the Student Navigator supports the management of all aspects of an assigned section of the college curriculum.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated effectiveness in applying student leadership theory/practices.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Ability to communicate with a diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting.
Job Duties
- Serve as a liaison to CON students and campus partners.
- Collect data with educational technology/tools as assigned in curricular, cocurricular or assessment activities.
- Work collaboratively with other CON Student Navigators and Academic leadership.
- Work with CON students and student leadership to create community and engagement, and support the planning and execution of student events and activities.
- Actively meet with and establish supportive partnerships with students and CON faculty and staff.
- Support the recruitment of College of Nursing students through partnerships with Admissions and Recruitment and participation in A&R sponsored events as needed.
- Monitor student academic progress and recommend/facilitate interventions as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with campus partners to connect students to services and resources.
- Other projects as assigned by supervisor, some of which may occur on weekends.

Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with occasional evenings and weekends as required by university events.
