The Department is located in the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) Building on campus, which has exceptional teaching, laboratory, and research facilities. |

| Description of Work | The University of North Carolina at Charlotte recognizes the differentiation of mission, goals, and objectives inherent in the diversity of disciplines represented by its colleges and departments. Thus, the Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions for Non-Tenure Track Faculty should be interpreted in the context of the related departmental and collegiate teaching goals. Teaching - Faculty responsibilities and essential functions with respect to teaching may include but are not limited to: subject matter competence, course design, course presentation, and grading student work. |
| Essential Duties and Responsibilities | The UNC Charlotte Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) invites applications for one full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor position in the area of Environmental Engineering. This is a 9-month teaching position on an initial 2-year, renewable contract. Essential Duties: Teaching professors support the academic mission of a department through distinguished teaching, curriculum innovation, mentoring, and professional development. This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. The candidate's primary focus is excellence in teaching and student engagement, including:

| Minimum Experience/Education | UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned masters and/or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. |
| Preferred Education, Skills and Experience | A Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering (or a closely related field) is required at the time of the appointment. Priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, professional experience in civil engineering, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students. |
| Necessary Licenses/Certifications | Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred (not required). |
