Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The Office of Research Integrity provides oversight, education, and guidance on:
- ethical conduct of human and animal research
- responsible conduct of research
- biosafety
- federal and state regulations
- export control and international travel or collaboration policies
- external professional activities for pay
- conflicts of interest
Position Summary
The assistant director of the Office of Research Integrity is responsible for the oversight of the federal regulations related to research activities on campus. related to the protection of human participants. The position is responsible for the oversight of human research participants. This position oversees the educational and training programs coordinated through ORI. The Assistant Director is also responsible for the management of ORI when the Director of ORI is not available.
Minimum Qualifications
- This position requires a Master’s degree and a minimum of 5 years experience working with federal research compliance programs.
- Applicants must have experience in working in a higher educational environment with investigators in the development, oversight and review of human research protocols.
- The AD for ORI must be able to independently review applications that have human research components and make decisions related to approval or moving forward to a higher level of review by the IRB board.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification for Institutional Review Board (RVB) Professionals CIP or equivalent certification is preferred.
