What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior BI Analyst position at University of New Hampshire?
This individual will be a key member of the Center for DATA and will provide senior data analyst, reporting, and data visualization expertise in support of academic and student related data and information needs. Areas of focus include developing and supporting university related reporting, data visualization and analytics solutions to meet strategic and operational needs for the USNH institutions. In addition, this position will lead and take part in client support efforts, data literacy initiatives, and data governance, and will provide project management and oversight of related projects.
Duties/Responsibilities
Solution Development (60%)
Provide expertise and leadership to collaborate with academic clients and units to understand reporting, data visualization, and information needs. Develop solutions to meet needs with appropriate tools. Lead projects to meet information needs including large, multi-department efforts. Partner with Center for DATA business intelligence developers to identify and create new reporting areas or to implement changes to existing data environments.
Client Consultation, Support and Training (25%)
Lead Center for DATA client support efforts and initiatives and establish effective services and processes to meet client needs. Provide support to Center for DATA clients including end user support, ad-hoc report development, and formal and informal training sessions and workshops.
Strategic Planning with Academic Leaders and Units (10%)
Lead and participate in USNH-wide and institutional planning efforts to improve and mature access to and use of academic data. Take part in and lead efforts to improve effectiveness of reporting and information solutions to meet needs. Participate in USNH wide governance groups and committees.
Other duties as assigned. (5%)

$69,560.00 - $124,580.00

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience in information technology field, Master’s and four years, or combination of education and experience equal to ten years
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Workday Reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in: data analytics in a higher education environment, developing effective data visualization and reporting solutions, and working with academic leaders and units.
- Understanding of and experience with data warehousing technologies and concepts, relational databases, business and systems analysis for business intelligence efforts, Workday HR/Finance and Workday Student, BusinessObjects, Power BI or other reporting technologies, and SQL.
- Experience with 3rd party BI tools such as Infoburst.
- Familiarity with PL/SQL, and data modeling tools.
- Experience with UNH and USNH information technology systems.
- Ability to lead technical and non-technical projects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical clients.
