The University of New Hampshire Psychological and Counseling Services (PACS) invites applications for a mental health clinician position. We are seeking a master level clinician with demonstrated clinical skills who is ready to serve the mental health needs of graduate and undergraduate students. We seek a clinician who has demonstrated competencies in brief treatment modalities, group counseling, and crisis management. Responsibilities include providing individual and group psychotherapy, crisis and case management, campus outreach/consultation, and training of doctoral interns. Previous work in college counseling is preferred. PACS works closely with Health & Wellness and Student Accessibility Services to provide coordinated services for students. - Conduct brief and extended intakes and risk assessments, provide individual therapy, group counseling, and urgent care treatment.
- Use current nationally and internationally recognized diagnostic systems to assign diagnoses, utilizing appropriate empirically validated measures.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based upon current best practices.
- Document treatment in a timely and comprehensive manner.
- Refer off campus for specialized treatment, and/or intensive long-term therapy as appropriate.
- Provide clinical services consistent with current professional and ethical standards and local, state and federal laws.
- Maintain awareness of emerging trends in collegiate mental health.
- Participate in staff meetings, case review, and professional development.
- Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide training seminars for predoctoral level trainees.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, including but not limited to committees both within the counseling center and in the greater university as assigned.
- Provide outreach programming services for the campus community.
- Conduct workshops and programs designed to address the needs and/or concerns of students, faculty and staff.
- Serve as consultant to faculty, staff and students on matters relating to the well-being of students.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Terminal Degree
- Licensed clinical social workers and clinical mental health counselors, including a supervised internship and three years of experience in the mental health field.
- The individual must be licensed eligible in NH.
- Licensed in the state of NH and preference for three years post licensure experience in the provision of mental health treatment
