What are the responsibilities and job description for the InterLibrary Loan Delivery Assistant position at University of New Hampshire?
This part-time, 15-20 hours per week, $15/hour, year-round position assists with the ILL/Delivery, Facilities and Physical Collections programs by gathering requested materials (daily) delivering (both physical and digital) materials and scanning and transporting materials between campus locations including Dimond Library, the branch libraries, and the Library Storage Building, as well as other projects as assigned. This role also serves as a contact for the library vehicle(s).
Job Specific Duties:
75% With general direction from the Interlibrary Loan/Materials Delivery Program Lead and working closely with program colleagues, process internal and external patron requests for materials from remote locations including the Library Storage building and branch libraries, with primary emphasis on supporting Interlibrary Loan operations; includes retrieving, scanning and/or delivering materials/items daily. Transport materials to/from storage as needed and ensures materials are returned to proper locations. Deliver/pick up outgoing/incoming library mail to UNH Mail Services on the days they do not provide this service. Serve as courier among the main and branch libraries.
Ability to lift/push heavy loads (up to 65lbs) regularly or accommodate lifting/pushing multiple lighter loads to allow distribution of weight.
Ability to operate vehicle liftgate controls and heavy garage door.
Comfortable working in a team-based environment and a proven ability and willingness to work independently and collaboratively;
Ability to exercise independent judgment and take initiative to improve workflow, processes and organizational efficiencies;
Demonstrated attention to detail and experience maintaining accurate records, managing tasks (sometimes multiple), and planning and organizing work to meet evolving priorities;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
