Job Summary:

The College of Education & Human Sciences (CEHS) is seeking a high performing, professional candidate for the position of Administrative Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide leadership, operational and project management, administrative guidance for CEHS, Office of Accreditation, Placement & Licensure, students and outside constituents, and support the mission of CEHS and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Primary responsibilities include providing management, partnership and support for CEHS with data processes and reporting; coordination and execution of ongoing federal and state reports for compliance and accreditation; coordination of the ETS reporting system for CEHS; coordination and facilitation support of the CEHS system and processes for Nebraska teacher certification; participation in and support of CEHS efforts and involvement in state and national initiatives (NACTE, AACTE, AASPA, etc.); assistance to the Certification Officer with certification, college management issues, state and national responsibilities and other tasks as required; and provide general assistance with other Office responsibilities and initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree and three (3) years of office management or relevant office experience in a professional office setting.
  • Additional years of relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Working knowledge of highly functioning, professional office practices, including operation of office equipment.
  • Advanced computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software, internal and external reporting systems, and data analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of online database navigation.
  • Material preparation and presentation delivery skills for a variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of State and federal processes, systems and personnel regarding information gathering, reporting and accreditation or similar processes.
  • Skill in providing formal training presentations.
Preferred Qualifications (but not required):
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) five years of office management experience in an educational setting with some management, supervisory and/or leadership experience.
  • Working knowledge of Nebraska Teacher Education.
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance systems.
  • Working knowledge of ETS and accreditation processes.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Strong proofreading/editing skills.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. They will be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks, possess effective interpersonal and written communication skills to communicate with a variety of internal and external constituents, and have advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will have the ability to work productively providing quality output in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment. The ability to maintain confidentiality as it relates to background history is critical. Advanced technical knowledge, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and other presentation media, database management, data analysis tools and report writing is required to be successful in this position.
