Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Physician Scientist based in Omaha, NE. The responsibilities of the Physician Scientist include conducting innovative, high-quality biological or clinical research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, managing research projects, and seeking external funding to support their work. The role also encompasses providing patient care, engaging in teaching activities, mentoring trainees, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to align research and patient care objectives. Contribution to departmental and institutional initiatives to foster academic and clinical growth will also be essential.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in research design, data collection, data analysis, and grant writing
- Proven clinical skills and ability to work with patients in a healthcare setting
- Experience in mentoring, teaching, and knowledge dissemination within academic or clinical environments
- Proficiency in communicating research findings through publications and other scholarly outputs
- Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork
- MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree; board certification in a relevant medical specialty is preferred
- Experience in translational or clinical research and eligibility for faculty appointment at the assistant professor level or higher
