Job Description
- Responds to incoming calls to the Police Department, routing and logging calls as appropriate, gathering and managing incident-related data, and arranging for the dispatch of officers to the scene of complaint
- Understands how tasks/activities relate to others on the team and how the team integrates with other related, similar teams
- Organizes and completes structured assignments (e.g., emergency and non-emergency complaints) according to priorities
- Gathers and relays information according to standard processes and procedures
- Maintains lists and logs, preparing records and reports as requested
- Provides solutions to problems in situations that may be atypical or infrequently occurring
- Evaluates and selects solutions from established options/procedures
- Impacts the own team through the quality of the services or information provided
- Utilizes working knowledge and learned skills to perform various activities for the job
- Possesses basic knowledge of specific processes and procedures needed to perform assignments within own work area
- Communicates through the regular exchange of information, ranging from routine to complex; ensures that objectivity and sensitivity are applied in communication
