The Collaborative to Advance Health Services (CAHS) at the Institute for Human Development (IHD) at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC).

The Collaborative to Advance Health Services seeks a Senior Project Manager to function independently within an interdisciplinary team. The Senior Program/Project Support Coordinator - External Communications and Evaluation will provide leadership, strategic direction, and management of high-complexity projects, and facilitate processes and product development to ensure the Collaborative achieves its vision, mission, and strategic plan. Additionally, they will establish programs to meet the diverse needs of the funding agency, partners, and other stakeholders.

Job Description

The professional in this position will serve as a senior project coordinator for the SAMHSA-funded Addiction Technology Transfer Center Network Coordinating Office (ATTC NCO). This position will execute the day-to-day operational and administrative aspects of national training, technical assistance, and implementation support projects for the specialized addiction treatment and recovery workforce and communities. This team member should have excellent organization and communication skills. The professional in this position will need to be flexible, as the work often evolves and changes as priority areas emerge. For example, the person in this position may coordinate the moving parts involved in ensuring events go smoothly, handling the details before the event as well as the day-of logistics. The individual may support project teams, coordinating calls, taking notes, and following up on action items. The individual may support the development of reports by collecting information from various sources, organizing data, and formatting documents for final submission. The work will be varied but will fall under the umbrella of supporting the leadership and teams on the project to successfully execute all deliverables with a special emphasis on communications (social media, newsletter, etc.), evaluation, and internal/external partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in program and resource development for the ATTC NCO, implement national addiction and recovery-related initiatives, create and manage project teams, and serve as a resource for project development and completion.
  • Participate in and represent the ATTC NCO in high-level meetings for high-visibility initiatives. Facilitate collaboration and communication among key stakeholders, regional ATTCs and our federal partners.
  • Contribute to NCO efforts to foster cross-regional, intra-network, and external partnerships with regional ATTCs for the purpose of increased collaboration and decreased duplication of efforts.
  • Support planning, curriculum development and related activities for high-quality, appropriate training and technical assistance activities that build the capacity of the healthcare workforce and those who directly support them to implement evidence-based and emerging, promising practices.
  • Design technical assistance plans using evidence-based implementation strategies based on the most current implementation science literature to respond to requests in a way that will meet the needs of diverse stakeholders.
  • Work in concert with the Project Director and Associate Director to write strong, competitive federal grant applications; progress reports, and budget projections (as needed)
  • Create content for and copyedit materials for various print media and internet-based platforms to include: ATTC social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), the ATTC
  • Messenger, NIATx Blog, ASME, and NCO email.
  • Coordinate and manage contracts for vendors conducting remediation, ensuring all appropriate materials are 508 compliant.
  • In partnership with the ATTC NCO website manager, manage the new branding rollout as assets are requested from regional centers and our funder.
  • Work with Project Director and Associate Director to support the national Advisory Board at recurring meetings, to include scheduling, material preparation, creating and delivering meeting notes, etc.
  • Support the Project Director on the SUD Keys initiative, ensuring a continual successful partnership with AMERSA and key regional ATTCs.
  • Contribute to and support the Associate Director and Project Evaluator on initiatives related to the Eval Special Interest Group (SIG).
  • Procure, track, and support the analysis of GPRA data at the direction of the Project Evaluator.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or in the best interests of the federally grant-funded program.

NOTE: This position is 100% grant funded and contingent on continued funding.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lived/living experience of, or knowledge of, behavioral health, addiction treatment, and/or recovery services.
  • Masters degree in social work, health education, public administration/public health, behavioral health, psychology, education, or related fields preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects similar in scope and size.

  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills. Exercise sound judgement
  • Adept at thinking strategically and analytically. Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify challenges, research, and recommend solutions

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals with a wide range of cultural and educational backgrounds.
  • Ability to work with multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines. Able to take initiative and follow through to complete novel challenges.
  • Tech savvy. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications and adept at learning new software and technologies (e.g. Zoom Conferencing, Adobe Acrobat, Google tools, SPSS, Qualtrics)

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $60,000 to $68,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
