Position Summary
The Research Nurse will serve as a key member of the research team within the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R). This role supports Principal Investigators (PIs) in the administration, coordination, and execution of clinical trials. Responsibilities include patient care, study coordination, subject enrollment, data collection, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of research initiatives.

Clinical Research Coordination
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Two (2) years of RN experience in an area of specialization.
Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
Preferred Qualifications
2-5 years of experience preferred.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $75,275.20 - $90,000.00 annually
Grade: PAT - RN4
University Title: NURSE CLINICIAN

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Research Coordination
- Assist PIs with the development, administration, and execution of clinical trials
- Coordinate subject recruitment, enrollment, and ongoing communication
- Support budget development and review for research studies
- Maintain and organize research protocols and study documentation
- Prepare summaries and reports on research progress and outcomes
- Evaluate patients and potential study participants based on research criteria
- Collect and document medical histories and relevant patient data
- Conduct standardized testing and perform physical assessments as appropriate
- Provide patient care related to clinical research protocols
- Deliver patient education and support symptom management, particularly related to neurotoxins and pain pump therapies
- Administer neurotoxin injections
- Manage the Pain Pump Program, including Baclofen pump refills
- Guide nursing staff in the design, implementation, and evaluation of research projects
- Develop and implement studies to assess the effectiveness of nursing programs, procedures, and policies
- Contribute nursing expertise to the development of research protocols
- Collaborate with nursing and medical faculty on research initiatives
- Promote and support research activities within assigned areas
- Ensure accurate and thorough data collection and documentation
- Assist in evaluating the reliability, validity, and applicability of research findings
- Support continuous improvement through evaluation of research outcomes and clinical practices
