Job Description

This position will be in the MU Healthcare South Providence Adult Psychiatry Clinic.

Clinic Psychotherapist Job Description

To independently assess, diagnose, counsel and treat the patient population.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interview, assess and provide individual counseling utilizing evidence-based modalities to clients who are experiencing personal, social, educational or vocational problems.
  • Evaluate treatment of clients and modify treatment based on specific individual’s evaluation.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other specialists in the referral of clients.
  • This is a fully clinical position, but there can be different opportunities that become available for teaching, supervision, and academic work that will adjust work expectations.

Shift

Monday – Friday

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in social work, mental health nursing, counseling education, psychology, or related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be acquired.

Missouri licensure as a Clinical Social Worker, Psychologist, Professional Counselor, or Certified Clinical Specialist in Mental Health Nursing.

One (1) year of clinical therapeutic experience in a medical setting.

(Note: For some positions, three (3) years of clinical therapeutic experience in a medical setting working with a broad range of social, psychological, or behavior issues may be substituted for the licensure/certification. At least one of the three years of experience must be post-masters.)

Preferred Qualifications

2 years of experience preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $59,321.60 - $78,041.60 per year

Grade: PAT - 009
