Job Description

The University of Missouri Football Program is seeking a Director of Player & Recruiting Engagement. This position plays a vital role in supporting the holistic development of student-athletes by fostering personal growth, academic achievement, career readiness, and overall well-being while also aligning recruiting operations, communication strategy, and on-campus experience to deliver a cohesive, high-impact approach to talent acquisition. The role is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening internal and external communication, and ensuring a best-in-class experience while maintaining full compliance with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Player Development Programming (25%)
  • Design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive programs focused on leadership, character development, personal growth, and community engagement.
  • Create structured opportunities that promote life skills and positive off-field behavior.
  • Work closely with coaching staff, academic advisors, and support personnel to monitor student-athlete development, academic progress, and overall well-being.
  • Provide guidance and intervention when necessary.
  • Official and Unofficial Visit Strategy and Execution (20%)
  • Oversee the execution of official and unofficial visits, including game-day visits, junior days, camps, and premier recruiting events.
  • Develop and standardize visit frameworks, itineraries, and hospitality strategies to ensure a consistent, high-level experience.
  • Serve as a lead on-campus point of coordination for prospective student-athletes, families, and internal stakeholders during visits.
  • Evaluate and enhance visit experiences to ensure alignment with program goals and competitive positioning.
  • Recruiting Communication and Messaging (15%)
  • Lead coordination of recruiting communications across coaching staff, recruiting personnel, creative/media teams, and external partners.
  • Ensure consistent, strategic messaging across all recruiting touchpoints, including visits, digital communication, and follow-up engagement.
  • Oversee communication workflows, confirmations, and engagement strategies with prospects and their families.
  • Collaborate on the development of recruiting presentations, materials, and content that effectively communicate program value.
  • Career Readiness & NIL Education (15%)
  • Develop and oversee a structured career development curriculum, including resume building, interview preparation, networking strategies, and education related to Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).
  • Prepare student-athletes for successful transitions beyond football.
  • Alumni Relations & Networking (10%)
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with football alumni to support mentoring programs, networking opportunities, and career transition resources for current student-athletes.
  • Program Branding, Experience, and Innovation (10%)
  • Contribute to the strategic development of a distinctive recruiting identity that reflects the program’s culture, values, and vision.
  • Partner with creative and recruiting staff to enhance storytelling, engagement initiatives, and overall prospect experience.
  • Identify innovative opportunities to elevate the program’s recruiting presence and competitiveness.
  • Other Duties and Compliance (5%)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff.
  • Ensure compliance with University, NCAA, and SEC rules, policies, and procedures related to athletic activities.

Shift

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior Experience in NCAA Division I College Football.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary is commensurate with education and experience

Grade: GGS-MKT
