The School of Medicine is excited to announce openings for Academic Hospitalist Physicians within the Department of Medicine. We are seeking dedicated and skilled professionals to join our patient-centered care team.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Type: 7:00am – 7:00pm, 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule with the ability to be flexible when needs arise
Office/Administrative Hours: No - Position will not have Office/Admin Hours
Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: No
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Board Eligible or Board Certified

Job Description
The School of Medicine is excited to announce openings for Academic Hospitalist Physicians within the Department of Medicine. We are seeking dedicated and skilled professionals to join our patient-centered care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide independent medical support services on inpatient floors, collaborating with physician assistants and hospital staff to promote team-based care.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, demonstrating autonomy and expertise in diagnosing and treating health issues.
- Order and perform diagnostic procedures; monitor patient conditions, lab values, and diagnostic results to develop effective treatment goals.
- Collaborate with other faculty and physician assistants on complex cases as outlined in the collaborative agreement.
- Serve as a resource for patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals in your area of expertise.
- Obtain and document thorough histories and physical exams, effectively communicating relevant medical information to surgeons and physicians.
- Identify trends in patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing standards for structure, process, and outcomes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
