Role Description This full-time, on-site Family Medicine Physician with OB role is based in Columbia, MO within the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine’s academic health system. The physician will provide comprehensive primary care and obstetric services, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum follow-up, and continuity care for individuals and families across the lifespan. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing and managing acute and chronic conditions, performing routine preventive health screenings, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to quality and safety initiatives. The role includes teaching and supervising medical students and residents, participating in call coverage, and engaging in community health activities aligned with the institution’s mission. The physician will document care in the electronic health record, follow evidence-based guidelines, and collaborate closely with colleagues to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Family Medicine, providing comprehensive care across the lifespan, including women’s health and obstetric services.
- Strong clinical skills in Primary Care and Medicine, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
- Commitment to Community Health, including preventive care, population health approaches, and culturally responsive care for diverse patient populations.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution and completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency; fellowship training in obstetrics or advanced OB experience preferred.
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine; eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Missouri and appropriate hospital privileges.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team collaboration skills, with a commitment to teaching, mentoring, and continuous professional development.
