What You'll Do
Consult with clinics, academic departments, and research areas to analyze requests and define requirements.
Have a hand in furthering data automation and developing analysis.
Build data products, visualizations, and reports for researchers, faculty leadership, clinical directors, and finance colleagues.
Work mostly with Tableau, SQL, and Python, but will learn about services like Denodo and Airflow.
Collaborate with other data analysts, developers, and the larger IT team
Work with other units on campus to use University-wide tools and services (e.g. Business Intelligence Community of Practice) and national networks (e.g. Healthcare Data and Analytics

Required Qualifications
BA or BS
5 years of experience
Proficiency in building impactful dashboards and visualizations with Tableau
Proficiency with SQL & Python
Experience with creating charts, graphs, and reports and working with users to improve understanding
Experience with a variety of databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostGreSQL)
Demonstrated ability to apply new or different ways of thinking to creatively solve problems
Work Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7 : 30 AM-5 : 30 PM. Clinics may operate until 7 : 30 PM one to two evenings a week and occasionally on Saturdays. IT system upgrades, critical fixes, and maintenance are performed outside of normal business hours.
Work Locations
This is a hybrid position with an onsite presence at 1011 North University Ave, Ann Arbor, MI 48109. Your primary working location will be within a set area within the School of Dentistry with the ability for a hybrid schedule. The School of Dentistry comprises multiple clinics and administrative locations in Ann Arbor. On occasion, you may travel to those locations

Salary range for the Intermediate level is $70,000 -$85,000 / yr

Job Functions / Duties Inter
Assists in data management, automation, virtualization, and integration efforts Understand data needs to maintain existing reporting services while developing new capabilities that drive business value. Current technologies include Tableau, PL / SQL, Sheets / Excel, Business Objects, PHP, Python, and proprietary adhoc reporting tools.Lead functional design for capturing, extracting, storing, and disseminating data across the organization. Help assess data quality and completeness Verify, integrate or blend data sets. Assume responsibility for data-related projects.
Develop and present data analytics solutions and datasets, dashboards, and other visualizations Develops Tableau dashboardsEnsure visualizations are relevant, actionable, and accessibleParticipates in qualitative and quantitative data analysis efforts at the School
Develop organizational understanding of the business of patient care, education, research, and related processes and information sources. Develop a comprehensive and cross-functional understanding of patient care, education, and research processes for Informatics service to faculty, staff, and students.Participates in master data management planning with data sources and access, and assist with data modeling and mapping, interoperability, web services, and / or migrations.Helps support strategic assessments and initiatives by applying qualitative and quantitative methods, modeling, and analytical techniques.Helps support data governance efforts
Functional and technical coordination of projects. Utilize collaborative methods, communication and documentation tools to ensure successful adoption and sustainability of solutions.Facilitate successful change management through immersion in client environment, testing, support, training, documentation, and compliance efforts using a variety of methods Partner with University of Michigan Information Technology Services (ITS), other universities, and informatics specialists to share efforts, leverage successes, promote sharing, and enhance value.
Other systems projects as assigned for support, data delivery, and interoperability.
