Responsibilities*

We are seeking a Radiation Medical Physicist with expertise in commissioning new technology, information technology, machine calibration, and equipment quality assurance (accelerators and CT simulators), patient imaging and simulation, treatment planning, pre-treatment IMRT QA, and special procedures (such as SBRT). This position will provide support for multiple community practice sites. Travel across the lower peninsula of Michigan will be required for this role.

Required Qualifications*

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Medical Physics
  • Two or more years of experience in Radiation Oncology
  • Experience with documentation of procedures, processes, and routine QA is required.
  • Certification by the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Medical Physics

Desired Qualifications*

Experience with external beam treatment delivery, calibration and quality assurance equipment, high dose rate brachytherapy, anatomic and physiological imaging devices, computerized treatment planning, patient management and safety are highly desirable

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
