Responsibilities*
Data Collection
- Complete production interviews with respondents in-person or by telephone using standardized interviewing techniques.
- Accurately complete Computer-Assisted interviews (CAI) where verbatim responses are entered into a computer.
- Complete refusal conversion sample as assigned.
- Administer standardized physical measurements and/or cognitive assessments with adults and children as required by the project.
- Legibly complete paper documents and forms.
- Work in a variety of locations including disadvantaged neighborhoods, locked/gated communities, and rural settings.
- Travel in all weather conditions, and at night as required by the project.
- Transport up to 30 pounds when conducting interviews with respondents in homes, educational establishments, medical centers or other designated locations
- Seek and accept guidance, coaching and mentoring.
- Communicate effectively.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of all data materials. Store university documents and equipment in a secure, private, and locked area.
- Display an understanding of study content and concepts.
- Demonstrate full technical competency and understanding of methods and procedures associated with interviewing and administrative activities using a laptop or related computer equipment.
- Complete assignments within specified goals and deadlines.
- Meet and exceed production standards or metrics set by assigned project(s).
- Abide by all protocols for confidentiality and safety.
- Accurately complete and submit by mail or electronically all associated study and administrative materials, such as questionnaires, consent forms, coversheets, timesheets, expenses, and receipts in a timely manner with support as needed.
- Read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions. Review protocols and procedures as needed.
- Compose and submit routine reports and correspondences in a timely manner.
- Maintain regular communication with the team and as directed by a Production Manger.
- Attend regular conference call meetings.
- Exercise sound judgement when determining when information needs to be advanced to other decision makers.

Required Qualifications*
- High School diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Familiarity with laptop/desktop computer.
- Available to work the required number of hours per week as set by the project.
- Maintain a flexible schedule that will allow attendance at training and a production work schedule that includes work during the day, evenings and weekends. Time of work can vary from early morning to evening.
- Available, reliable transportation to meet the demands of the assignments.
- Ability to screen/interview individuals in their household, which may require ascending/descending floors of apartment buildings or single family dwellings.
- Ability to conduct phone interviewing with individuals in a household.
- Ability to communicate clearly to enable effective data collection.
- Work independently without frequent in-person supervision to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Receptive to receiving constructive feedback to improve quality of data collection efforts and interviewing techniques.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Ability to meet the travel requirements of the project.
