- Analyzes disease processes with the use of ultrasound through the selection of appropriate procedures and techniques.
- Coordinates post and present medical history of patient in reference to ultrasound examinations.
- Schedules and instructs the patient in reference to ultrasound.
- Reviews current imaging techniques and interpretations to assure current information.
- Furnishes occasional immediate results to appropriate medical personnel derived from ultrasound procedure.
- Performs basic equipment maintenance and quality assurance.
- Compiles a daily log of patients.
- Provides assistance and guidance as needed to Non-Registered Sonographers.
- Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties.
- Prepares and schedules patients for examinations.
- Prepares material, supplies, jackets and most recent examination for next day procedures.
General Requirements
- Registered or registry eligible with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program
- Possesses skills and knowledge of cross section anatomy.
