UM-Flint Women’s Club Soccer – Head Coach Position
The University of Michigan-Flint Women’s Club Soccer Team is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Coach for the Fall 2026 season. We are looking to hire by mid-July in preparation for tryouts and preseason planning.
Position Overview
The Head Coach will lead a competitive and growing women’s club soccer program made up of 15–25 female student-athletes enrolled at UM-Flint. Our roster includes a wide range of experience levels, from players who are newer to the sport to athletes with high school varsity and state-ranked experience. We are looking for someone who is committed to player development, team culture, communication, and creating a positive environment for all athletes.
Compensation
- $3,000 stipend for the season (paid at the end of the 2026-2027 year)
Season Timeline
- Season begins immediately after Labor Day with tryouts
- Runs through mid-November
- Includes league/tournament play if the team qualifies
Responsibilities
- Attend and lead all team practices, games, and team-related events unless otherwise communicated with the executive board
- Create and run organized practices focused on skill development, conditioning, teamwork, and game preparation
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and constructive feedback to players of varying skill levels
- Maintain consistent communication with team leadership and players
- Travel with the team to away games and tournaments throughout Michigan
Schedule Expectations
- Practices held 2 evenings per week
- Typically Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday depending on coach availability
- Practices are generally held at Mundy Sportsplex and may run as late as 11:00 PM
- Games are typically played on weekends, averaging around 2 matches per weekend during season play
- Home games are played at the Genesee Fieldhouse located off US-23 and Grand Blanc Road
Travel Expectations
Candidates should ideally live within approximately 25 miles of Flint due to frequent travel commitments. Away game locations may include, but are not limited to:
- Ann Arbor
- Saginaw
- Detroit
- Lansing
- Big Rapids
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or higher
- Strong communication, leadership, flexibility, and organizational skills
- Ability to work with athletes of varying experience levels
Preferred:
- Coaching licenses/certifications
- Collegiate, club, or competitive coaching experience
- Playing experience at a high level
The UM-Flint Women’s Club Soccer team is continuing to grow both competitively and within the campus/community, and we are looking for a coach who is excited to help continue building a positive, supportive, and successful program.
Pay: $3,000.00 per year
