Job Summary
The candidate is required to print different plastic/metal materials using 3D printer and test them in a tensile testing machine to obtain the stress-strain curve and fit the data into available hyperplastic models. Also, the candidate is required to use Ansys software for evaluating the new models.
Responsibilities*
Onsite
The work requires, or the supervisor approves a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U-M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

- Use Ansys software for evaluating the new models.
- Research assistant must be an undergraduate student.
- Research assistant must have knowledge in using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Research assistant must have knowledge in using Ansys software and 3D printers.
- Some knowledge in using ANSYS software and image processing.
- Mechanical Engineering student preferred.
