- Contact information of a specific UM-Flint instructor that will provide a recommendation
- A list of courses completed at UM-Flint within the College of Innovation & Technology
The attendant will work under the direction of the Laboratory Support Supervisor assisting the College of Innovation & Technology. The position was designed to support the various safety and stockroom needs that arise weekly.
Responsibilities*
Safety
- Perform laboratory safety inspections and correct any deficiencies
- Assist with the creation of standard operating procedures for laboratories
- Collect hazardous waste, chemical and/or biohazardous
- Receive and deliver packages
- Perform stockroom inventory counts
- Other duties as assigned
- Currently enrolled UM-Flint student (any academic standing)
- Be able to work both independently and with a team
- Strong communicator
- Positive attitude and motivated
- Ability to accurately input information into associated safety and stockroom logs
- Ability to work with common maintenance chemicals (Ethanol, Sodium Bicarbonate)
- Able to work a consistent schedule, including shifts encompassing at least 3 hours/day
- Comfortable working and following protocol for labs in the department, as well as BSL2 spaces (aseptic technique, sterility)
