The Branch Manager must uphold UMCU’s Core Values, while inspiring and motivating the team to follow UMCU’s vision and mission and help meet its objectives. They are responsible for the growth and development of their team. This includes themselves and any UMCU Team Member that they may have an influence on; it is not limited to their direct reports. Maintaining a positive work environment each day is an expectation. Keeping open communication, hosting weekly huddles, and empowering each team member will aid this initiative. They are responsible for the coordination of all phases of branch operations and responsible for multiple functions, including but not limited to: staffing, security, cash handling, delivery of products and services, and the physical appearance of the branch.

What will you be doing in this role?

- Takes ownership of the branch and team including but not limited to selection and promotion, retention, recognition, engagement, direction, performance management, corrective action, job responsibilities, training and development of direct reports
- Motivates the team to reach UMCU objectives by creating a fun and competitive environment
- Conducts formal team member meetings monthly; provides performance feedback and recognition
- Conducts department/branch meetings on a weekly basis
- Holds themselves and their team accountable and provide feedback regularly
- Ensures they and their team provide high service standards to members and internal team members
- Plans and manages the workload of the branch team
- Performs duties of branch team members as needed
- Works in tandem with other departments of the Credit Union to enhance member service and ensure teamwork and internal cooperation
- Creates a team environment that facilitates engagement and team member participation
- Reviews, evaluates, recommends, and implements operational improvements
- Manages all cash handling, negotiable instruments, balancing daily work and reconciliation of branch accounts
- Initiates, writes, maintains, and updates branch procedures
- Monitors branch performance using metrics, statistics and analysis
- Manages the daily operation, reconciliation and problem resolution of the branch GLs
- Manages branch facility to meet UMCU’s service expectations
- Undertakes management responsibilities of overseeing the branch team including selection and promotion, direction, performance management, corrective action, training and development
- Researches vendors or serves on committees for new products and services
- Volunteers in various activities sponsored by UMCU within the surrounding communities the credit union serves
- Manages credit union security procedures
- Maintains knowledge of and follows all credit union policies and procedures regarding BSA, OFAC, U.S. Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, S.A.F.E Act, CFPB regulations and Customer Identification Program
- Completes all UMCU required trainings and attends and actively participated in leadership camps
- Other duties as assigned
What you will need for this role?
- Bachelor's degree or actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial institution is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong technical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Maintains a growth mindset
