Shape and implement a strategic approach to institutional philanthropy, forging new partnerships that will drive groundbreaking cancer research and patient care initiatives.


Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, South Florida’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, has partnered with Lindauer in the search for its inaugural Executive Director, Institutional Giving.


The ED of Institutional Giving will lead Sylvester's corporation and foundation fundraising efforts and drive philanthropic impact in support of cutting-edge cancer research and patient care.

Key responsibilities


  • Develop and implement strategies to secure major and principal gifts from institutional donors to advance Sylvester’s mission.


  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of foundation support, collaborating with the Director of Sylvester, faculty, and researchers.


  • Lead and manage key national and international relationships to grow and diversify institutional giving.


  • Partner with University of Miami’s Foundation Relations team to craft high-impact proposals and grant applications.


  • Play a pivotal role in positioning Sylvester as a leader in institutional philanthropy within the oncology and research communities.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree and seven to 10 years of demonstrated successful experience in institutional giving, preferably in healthcare or cancer. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.


  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills are necessary along with the ability to be highly organized, creative, energetic, and assertive and exhibit the independent judgment and personal integrity necessary to carry out a senior management role in fundraising.


  • A teamwork-oriented approach to colleagues and proven ability to manage people in a positive and constructive environment are essential.


  • Demonstrated success in growing institutional fundraising in a prior role.


  • Knowledge of business and management principles.


  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.


  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.


  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate, and/or supervise the work of others.
