Job Description
JOB SUMMARY: This role performs a variety of clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling procedures, and supports the efficient operations of the department. Interacts with physicians, visitors, team members and patients, ranging in age from neonate to geriatric. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
Qualifications
Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced education is preferred.
Work Orientation & Experience: At least one (1) year of previous clerical experience in a medical setting is required. Previous computer experience is also required.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to: (a) use in-depth knowledge of computers, printers and fax machines; (b) utilize telephone technique and communication skills; (c) maintain positive attitude and work under pressure; (d) convey verbal and written information; (e) follow directions; (f) respond to emergency situations; (g) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital; (i) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; (j) independently organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities.
