- Receives all incoming mail, interdepartmental mail, notices and memoranda; sorts according to appropriate destination and distributes to all hospital departments accurately and timely in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Delivers mail and provides essential mail information to various Medical System departments.
- Checks and traces improperly addressed mail. Corrects or returns mail to originator.
- Sorts and weighs all outgoing mail; affixes appropriate postage by using a postage meter and transports to United States Post Office, as necessary, in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Processes registered and/or certified mail packages, insured items and prepares non-profit mailings in accordance with specific procedures.
- Delivers and retrieves postage meter from the United States Post Office for postage refilling.
- Observes UMMS and departmental policies and procedures, particularly safety and safe work practices.
- Attends and participates in in-service and various educational programs for professional development.
III. Education and Experience
- Completion of a tenth grade high school level of course is required.
- Three to six months general work experience is required.
