Position Summary
University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center is seeking a Full Time Night Shift Patient Care Technician II (CNA) to join the 3 East Stroke Telemetry team. This is a fast-paced acute care environment focused on delivering exceptional patient care to stroke and telemetry populations within a collaborative team setting.
The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-acuity hospital environment where patient safety and quality care are top priorities. In this role, you will support the 3 East Stroke Telemetry Unit by assisting with direct patient care, monitoring patient needs, supporting daily unit operations, and working closely with Registered Nurses and interdisciplinary team members to provide a positive patient experience and strong clinical outcomes.
Shift: Full Time Nights | 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. | Rotating weekends and holidays required.

Key Responsibilities
The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties.
- Assist nursing staff with direct patient care activities including vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, mobility support, toileting, feeding, bathing, dressing, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Support admissions, transfers, discharges, hourly rounding, and patient safety initiatives across the unit.
- Perform blood draws, specimen collection, EKGs, IV starts, bladder scans, and additional delegated patient care tasks within scope.
- Observe patient conditions closely and communicate changes promptly to the nursing team.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized patient care environment while supporting infection prevention and patient safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with Registered Nurses and interdisciplinary team members to support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.
- Respond to patient alarms, call lights, tele-sitter alerts, and unit requests in a timely manner.
- Support patient comfort, quality care initiatives, and overall unit workflow throughout the shift.
- Other duties as assigned.
Licensure & Experience
- Valid Maryland Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification through the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of previous hospital, acute care, or comparable clinical experience preferred.
- Prior telemetry, stroke, progressive care, or medical surgical experience strongly preferred.
- Must be comfortable performing blood draws, specimen collection, and patient sticks in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Compensation
- Pay Range: $19.50 - $27.31/hr.
- Shift, Weekend, & Holiday Differentials.
- Benefits Package applicable to Full-Time, Part-Time, & PRN Staff Members.
