Job Description
Nuclear Medicine Technologist, $15,000 Sign on Bonus
- Bonus applies to non-umms employees
Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with radioisotope and radiation detection methods.
Key Responsibilities
- Executes basic clinical competence in nuclear medicine technology, in all locations across all patient types. Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications to perform patient imaging procedures. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information for diagnostic interpretation. Selects accurate technical factors and appropriateness on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.
- Applies knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation safety and physics, quality assurance, positioning and patient care skills. Ensures safety and security in the storage and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
- Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
- Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment. Maintains supplies and inventory in area. Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors. Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
- Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality. Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
Work Experience
Education
- Graduation with a certificate or advanced degree in radiation therapy or nuclear medicine from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
- No Experience Required; New grads welcome
- Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT)
- Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist - State of MD
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification

- Associate degree
- Licensed Radiographer - State of MD
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board NCT

- Monday-Friday: 6:30am -3pm
- Weekday call until 10pm; Weekend on call 7am-10pm
- Holiday on Call
