- Independently performs responsibilities of MLS I, MLS II and MLS III.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives as a member of a multi-disciplinary patient care services team. Develops and leads efforts to improve regulatory compliance within and beyond the department.
- Assists leadership team with interviewing, orienting, training and supervising. Provides input to leadership team for performance evaluations and corrective actions.
- Collaborates with leadership in identifying gaps and opportunities for professional development and strategic organizational initiatives. Facilitates in creating a positive departmental culture.
- Assists leadership in identification and resolution of complex clinical and operational issues.
- Responsible for regulatory and accreditation agency preparation and participation.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, biology or related sciences and minimum of three years’ experience in a clinical laboratory required or; an associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or completion of Military Laboratory Technology with a minimum of five years of experience.
- Three (3) years of experience in clinical laboratory required with a Bachelor’s degree, or five years of experience in a clinical laboratory with an Associate’s degree or completion of Military Laboratory Technician program required.
- Licensure/Certifications: ASCP or equivalent preferred.
