Job Description:
As a Clinical Nurse II, you will play a crucial role in providing support to all nursing units on off-shift hours. This includes ensuring safe and high-quality patient care, providing bedside education and guidance, and serving as a clinical resource for the healthcare team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Offering visible support to team members through rounding and maintaining awareness of initiatives and staff competencies.
- Identifying situations requiring notification of the Patient Care Supervisor or unit leader, and collaborating with them on any unresolved issues.
- Facilitating appropriate assignments for oncoming shifts based on acuity, census, and staff competencies.
- Providing clinical support to staff by acting as a consultant on clinical and administrative decisions, facilitating communication with the medical team, and acting as a preceptor for new procedures.
- Assisting with coordinating timely placement of admissions, delegation or redistribution of work, and identifying staffing needs.
- Communicating effectively and professionally, demonstrating respect for other health-team members, and addressing customer service issues.
- Addressing safety concerns by identifying and entering occurrence reports, inspecting units for cleanliness, and ensuring readiness during survey rounds.
- Ensuring chart audits are completed and peer feedback is provided.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
- Minimum of two years' experience in Clinical Nurse II level.
- ACLS certification.
