Job Summary: Participates as a member of the Retail Services Team with primary responsibility for preparing servery and dining room as well as serving food. May also prepare and serve catered functions. May interact with patients of all ages on a rare occasion who come into the department. Continually develops knowledge and skills, as appropriate, for patients of any age including neonate, toddler, school age, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in addition to the terminally ill patients.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks
Work Orientation & Experience: Prior experience in food service preferred. The incumbent may require up to 2 months of detailed job orientation and training to gain specific capabilities to perform essential job functions.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to work well under time constraints. Ability to work on multiple assignments under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment is required. Ability to read and understand English is essential. Ability to understand and follow directions. Ability to use basic math skills.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks
- Sets up assigned station in work area.
- Stocks beverage coolers, fills yogurt machine, sets up hot & cold food area, salad bar area.
- Stocks and dismantles condiment area, replenishes paper and china supplies.
- Serves hot and/or cold food to customers.
- Prepares, portions, assembles and labels non-patient food items.
- Maintains merchandising in-service area
- Cleans assigned area as per work-flow and adheres to the cleaning schedule.
- Works as cashier, if scheduled, following daily routine for cash register set up involving duties such as: efficient layout of cash drawer, ensure adequate supply of register tape, general housekeeping of register stand.
- Verifies cash bank with witness prior to opening and reconciles drawer at end of shift or as required. Is responsible for all cash issued and recorded in register.
- Passes monthly audit, with a cash variance of less than plus or minus $2.00
- Performs any other duties assigned.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary in communicating with patients and/or customers
