Position Overview
As a Nurse Manager, you will be a Registered Nurse with key responsibilities for ensuring safe, effective, and appropriate patient care within our Emergency Department. You will act as a critical link connecting the Hospital's Vision to our nursing team. With access to necessary support resources, you will oversee unit nursing staff, including assigned PRN, SSP, and Float Pool personnel, ensuring they deliver high-quality care across all patient age groups as outlined in the Unit Specific RN Performance Standards.

This position reports to the Director of Nursing in the appropriate division.
Qualifications
Working Conditions
This role is primarily indoor-based. Candidates may encounter body fluids, frequent interruptions, and multiple crisis situations in a fast-paced environment. There is potential for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials; therefore, adherence to Standard (Universal) Precautions and safe handling practices is essential. This position is classified as medium exposure risk, necessitating the completion of an annual respirator mask fitting.
Physical Requirements
The role requires heavy work involving close attention to detail. Physical activities include standing, walking, and climbing stairs for 3-5 hours per day, with 0-3 hours of sitting. Lifting, bending, and reaching may be required for loads in excess of 100 pounds in accordance with Safe Patient Lifting policies. Hearing and visual acuity are essential for 5-8 hours per day.
