We are looking for an experienced Health Safety and Environmental Safety Technician to join our team at the University of Maryland Medical.
Center.
Under limited supervision coordinates safety and environmental health research, planning, support and training activities for UMMC on the Downtown and Midtown Campuses including hospitals, ambulatory clinics, and other associated facilities. Provides operational support and leadership to hospital leadership on EHS related topics. Develops and grows internal (and external) agency relationships to support the UMMC safety and environmental health program. Creates and maintains a safe and healthful environment for patients, employees, and visitors in owned and leased facilities operated by University of Maryland Medical Center (UMMC)..
What You Need to Be Successful:
A baccalaureate degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety Engineering, and Environmental Health, related engineering field or equivalent is required. Demonstrated equivalent knowledge gained though work experience, training, certification and competency may be substituted
A minimum of 5 years professional experience as an industrial hygienist, safety inspector, environmental engineer, or occupational safety specialist, or similar responsibilities preferably in a hospital, health care or bio medical research environment.
