Facilities Project Manager

University of Maryland Eastern Shore
Salisbury, MD Full Time
POSTED ON 5/11/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/7/2026

Company Description

Founded in 1886, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore is a historically Black, land-grant university located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. UMES is home to more than 30 degree programs across a campus of more than 50 buildings and 1,100 acres.

With a strong sense of community, a commitment to student success, and a focus on moving from excellence to eminence, UMES is a place where employees can contribute to work that supports students, advances research, strengthens the campus, and makes a difference beyond the university.

The Facilities Planning, Design & Construction team plays an important role in that mission by planning, renovating, and delivering the physical spaces that support teaching, research, student life, and long-term campus growth.

Role Description

UMES is seeking a Facilities Project Manager for a full-time, on-site, six-month contractual position within Facilities Planning, Design & Construction.

This position will provide project management support for active campus renovation and capital improvement projects, helping move work from scope development through design, construction, and closeout. The role will manage small to mid-sized projects while also supporting larger capital initiatives across campus.

The Facilities Project Manager will coordinate with campus stakeholders, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and university leadership to help advance projects, maintain schedules and budgets, review project documentation, support construction administration, and provide regular project status updates.

This is a hands-on, owner-side project management role in a busy higher education environment. It is well suited for someone with construction management, architecture, engineering, facilities planning, or institutional capital project experience who is available for a short-term assignment and can step in quickly to help keep active projects moving.
