The Human Resources Specialist I - Data Processing provides support to the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) unit in the day-to-day operations associated with the processing of employee information in the Human Resources System (PeopleSoft).

Data Analysis/Entry:
- Perform data analysis and entry from various source documents to meet established HR and Payroll deadlines. Entries include transactions relating to employee onboarding, separation/terminations, and employee job and personal demographic updates, corrections and changes.
Data Integrity:
- Monitor the accuracy and quality of the data maintained in the HR system. Collaborate with IRADS in monitoring of data for Federal reporting. Take a proactive role in identifying ways to monitor processed data.
- Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve data abnormalities, inclusive of communicating with department liaisons.
- Create and execute queries and reports for data quality checks.
- Assist with the monitoring of employees’ leave balance data and audit compliance.
Automated Processes:
- Analyze online employee transaction submissions for approval and staging for the automated process data loads in HR PeopleSoft.
- Assist with the development of procedures to streamline data entry processes and ensures that the data is consistent with data structures and workflow within the system.
- Generate routine reports to validate data resulting from component interfaces before and after program loads.
- Participate in user acceptance testing of system modifications and upgrades.
- Assist with the update and maintenance of training materials to streamline data processing.
Other:
- Assist with the triage and/or resolution of HRIS cases; assigning to appropriate HR team members for follow up and response as well as resolving inquiry tickets as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain training guides and manuals for data processing procedures.
- Generate routine reports and queries for internal and external customers.
- Partner with team stakeholders of other integrated systems to identify strategic approaches for export reporting needs.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related area.
- One year of related work experience.
Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
- Strong data entry skills with keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated critical thinking with ability to analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and seek sound solutions.
- Experience in analyzing and interpreting data.
- Flexible with ability to work well under pressure, frequent change, and consistently meet deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets and database software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of any and all sensitive information encountered.
- PeopleSoft experience strongly preferred.
- Three years of related work experience preferred.
- Higher education experience in related areas preferred.
