The University of Louisiana Monroe invites applications for a full-time 12-month tenure-track faculty position in the developing DPT program. The Assistant or Associate Professor holds a faculty appointment and has administrative, academic, service, and scholarship responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program.Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Developing, monitoring, and refining the neuromuscular, geriatric, pediatric, professional development, sex, gender, or gender expression based, or practice management components of the curriculum
- Facilitating quality learning experiences for students
- Evaluating students' performance, in cooperation with other faculty, to determine their ability to integrate didactic and clinical learning experiences and to progress within the curriculum
- Conducting research in their area of expertise
- Providing service to the DPT Program, Department, College, University and/or the Profession
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapist professional program or deemed equivalent non-accredited program
- Earned clinical doctoral degree in physical therapy or an earned academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc)
- Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state where employed
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist
- Minimum of at least one year of clinical teaching or clinical coordination experience
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills
- Current knowledge and skill in the use of information and computer technology (e.g., word processing, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these skills
- Able to work with students with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Design and conduct independent and/or collaborative research in clinical education or related areas
- Neuromuscular, Pediatric, Geriatric, or Sex, Gender, or Gender Expression Content Expertise
- Holds a nationally recognized certification for advanced clinical practice through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties or other institution
- Practice management experience
