Position Overview
Jayhawks! Our ambassadors represent student life at KU. They represent a variety of academic majors and come from a multitude of states, religions, and cultures. They're involved in campus clubs and organizations — from service groups and sorority/fraternity life to academic organizations and student government. Many have participated in undergraduate research, studied abroad, and held internships while at KU. Please note, this is an on-campus, in-person position with specific hours.
Job Description
Ambassadors represent KU by giving one-hour walking tours of campus, giving residence hall tours, being the student voice on special event discussion panels, and answering questions and chatting with future Jayhawks. Other duties include preparing materials to assist Admissions staff in facilitating daily visits to prospective students and families. Other duties as assigned and at the direction of the Assistant Director of Campus Visits, Graduate Assistants, and Office of Admissions Staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment as a KU Student in at least 6 credit hours
- Must have good written and oral communication skills as evidenced by application materials.

During the semester term of the appointment, you must:
- Be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours.
- Must maintain a cumulative and semester GPA of 2.0
- Submission of a complete application, which includes a resume and answers to the following questions, attached as a cover letter:

- Why do you want to be an ambassador?
- Tell us about yourself. What are you passionate about? Discuss any hobbies or interests you want us to know about.
Preferred Qualifications
- Flexible schedule, dependable, and outgoing personality
- Involvement in one or more on campus student organizations
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Enthusiasm to positively represent the University of Kansas to on campus visits.
- Knowledge of University of Kansas programs and services
- Ability to be well organized and possess good time management skills.
