The Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental and Behavioral Sciences, is part of a division that includes 24 faculty members across pediatric psychology, clinical child psychology, developmental psychology, developmental medicine, occupational therapy, and school psychology. The faculty engage in research, teaching, clinical service, professional service, and leadership activities within the department, across the medical center, and within national professional organizations.
This is a full-time, tenure-track appointment with an initial probationary period of seven years. Promotion and tenure decisions are based on demonstrated achievement in teaching, research/scholarship, and service. Tenure is granted based on evidence of sustained scholarly contributions, performance that exceeds expected duties, and demonstrated leadership and innovation that contribute to the academic mission and reputation of the University.

Required Qualifications
Education: PhD, PsyD in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology with an emphasis in the care of children and families.

Job Description
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Procure external federal funding to support an independent line of research focused on child health.
- Publish peer reviewed publications and complete other activities necessary for promotion and tenure.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring activities as part of the division’s educational mission.
- Contribute to departmental, institutional, and professional service commitments, including committee work and participation in professional organizations.
- Engage in collaborative academic and clinical scholarship within the division and across the university.
Required Qualifications
Education: PhD, PsyD in Clinical, Counseling or School Psychology with an emphasis in the care of children and families.
- This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
- Must be licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in the state of Kansas.
- Must have passed or in preparation for the the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP).
- Completed APA accredited internship and a research oriented postdoctoral fellowship.
- Research experience in health psychology/behavioral medicine.
Work Experience:
- Present funding or a strong potential for external grant funding as demonstrated by application materials.
- Teaching experience in a medical setting.
