The Iowa River Landing Clinic is seeking a 100% Staff Nurse in Diabetes Education. The Staff Nurse is charged with the responsibilities of assessing patients’ nursing care needs, evaluating effectiveness of care provided, integrating nursing theory and research into clinical practices, and ensuring patient care standards are met. The Diabetes Nurse Educator functions as a clinical nurse expert and care coordinator interfacing with administrative, clinical nursing staff, physicians, and patient’s families.

Percent of Time: 100
Schedule: 40 hours/week will be accomplished between the times of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday -Friday.

Education and Certification Requirements
- An Associate’s degree in Nursing, Diploma in Nursing, Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, or Master’s degree in Nursing (MNHP or MSN) is required
- Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required
Experience Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
1-2 years of recent staff nurse level experience in a diabetes setting
Certified Diabetes Educator or able to become certified within 2 years upon hire
Must be able to work flexible hours
Evidence of positive service excellence
Documented patient education experience
Current experience in self-directed, independent roles
Evidence of productive and effective time prioritization and time utilization
Triage Experience required within the last 3 years.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience working in an ambulatory diabetes clinic setting
- Experience using EPIC
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Evidence of working well with a team
- Recent experience in diabetes education
- Experience in collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary team
