What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Application Developer-Pharmacy Informatics position at University of Iowa Health Care Health System?
The University of Iowa Healthcare Pharmacy Department is looking for a 100% Senior Application Developer to join our Pharmacy Informatics Team!
This position will provide workflow analysis, optimization, application build, testing and implementation of Epic System software related to the Willow applications , predominantly the Beacon application for CCI sites. This position includes working with Project Management groups, key stakeholders, vendors, contactors, and end users regularly. Additionally, this position will be responsible for system development, including financial and clinical reporting or system build, specifically related to ambulatory clinics, infusion centers and retail pharmacy services, as well as other related projects within pharmacy. Monitoring production issues to allow for optimization, testing special updates and system documentation are also required.
This position is eligible to participate in remote work. Remote work must be performed at a location within the state of Iowa. Successful candidates who participate in remote work must comply with the requirements of the remote work program and related policies.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Computer Science, Informatics or MIS, or an equivalent combination of education and related application development/support experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- E xperience in the development and/or support of applications used by non-technical customers to support and enhance workflow processes, preferably healthcare, typically 5-7 years of experience for a Senior Application Developer role.
- Experience acting as the primary contact for the support, configuration, and development of at least one enterprise application or area of functionality, preferably healthcare related.
- Experience working with application owners and/or vendors to define system requirements, integration requirements and understands business needs.
- Demonstrated experience working with end-users to define system requirements, understand business needs and convert business requirements into functional/technical specifications for complex integrated systems build.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with basic project management.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff
- Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience supporting an EHR in an ambulatory or hospital setting.
- Experience with any of the following workflows: Inpatient, ambulatory, or other healthcare setting.
- Epic certification/accreditation related but not limited to the following: Willow Inpatient or Willow Beacon.
- Demonstrated ability using tools for customizing vendor application software.
- Demonstrated knowledge of integrated system software solutions.
- Experience collaborating with technical and non-technical staff on system implementation projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and experience adhering to regulatory requirements with respect to system configuration.
- Proven ability to write application test scripts.
