What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Services Student Clerk position at University of Iowa Center for Advancement?
The University of Iowa Center for Advancement’s mission is to advance the University of Iowa through engagement and philanthropy. The Project Services Student Clerk will support project management for all communications projects, including proposals, end-of-campaign projects, and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the project request process by monitoring the project queue and assisting with basic intake and change request tracking
- Run and share routine project reports (At-Risk projects, unassigned tasks, and incomplete projects) and flag items for team review
- Assist in identifying missing information or inconsistencies in projects and escalate as needed
- Attend project kickoff (PKO) meetings as needed to take notes, document action items, and support follow-up
- Support monitoring of staff time off entries to help the team plan for capacity and flag potential impacts to projects
- Assist with task reassignment and timeline updates under the guidance of the Project Services team
- Support quality checks by reviewing projects for completeness and alignment with templates and processes
- Assist with preparing templates and materials for project setup and ongoing improvements
- Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Project Services team
Schedule: Flexible work hours between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Expected 10-12 hours per week. Must be available to work throughout summer 2026. This is a student position and can be ongoing until graduation.
Qualifications
- Must be a current University of Iowa student (minimum 12 credit hours during academic year)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset
- Proactive with the ability to work independently
- Ability to follow established processes and templates
- Ability to learn and use project management software and tools
