The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services at the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC), seeks a Utilities Engineer. This position provides engineering-related support, recommendations, and services to the Utilities and Energy Services/HLP Department in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Services regarding energy products, power generation, production, consumption, and efficiencies for the entire campus, including steam, power, high-temperature hot water, and chilled water to ensure energy and cost efficiencies are being met.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- Three years of experience in a utility plant or Combined Heat Power environment, or five years of facilities environment experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge in producing and distributing superheated steam, power cogeneration, high-temperature hot water and chilled water.
- Thorough understanding of prudent engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and problem solving and analytical skills.
The budgeted salary range for the position is $90,000 to $115,000. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
