Position Summary

To support and teach classes in the Law School's Juris Doctor programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging and rigorous classroom instruction for the assigned course(s), adhering to the established curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods (e.g., lectures, case studies, simulations) to foster active learning and critical thinking among students.
  • Prepare and distribute clear and concise course materials, including syllabi, assignments, and exams.
  • Evaluate student performance through assignments, exams, and participation, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Stay current on relevant legal developments and scholarship in the assigned area of law.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school or its equivalent from a foreign country.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law in the relevant legal field.
  • Demonstrated ability or potential to teach effectively in a law school setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn the Blackboard learning management system.
  • Admission to a state or foreign bar (or inactive/retired status).
  • Must be in good standing with any bar which they have been admitted.

The budgeted salary for this position is typically $1,000 per credit hour.
