Duties May Include
- Meet with students on a monthly basis to monitor academic progress
- Assess and coordinate academic tutoring opportunities for students
- Oversee daily study tables and organizing study sessions
- Guide and mentor students in exploring their choices of majors and coursework
- Advise students on personal, financial, social and academic matters
- Research and assist with scholarship and internship opportunities
- Collaborate with university resources and personnel to provide comprehensive support services
- Balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Working with students in an advising and mentoring role.
- Editing and writing business correspondence using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials.
- Explaining policies and procedures to others.
- Using computer software and applications for work processing, email, internet research and social media engagement.
- Working in an environment that requires maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Working with a team to accomplish shared goals.
- Bachelors’ Degree.
- Must be able to work nonstandard hours and occasional weekends.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university vehicles.
- Master’s degree in higher education administration, business, public administration, or a related field.
- One or more years of experience organizing, coordinating and managing academic retention programs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to interface professionally with departments, staff, faculty and students.
- Experience in researching, interpreting, and applying university policies and procedures demonstrating considerable knowledge of academic issues and graduation requirements.
