Functions as a health care practitioner at a UH optometry clinic diagnosing, treating and/or managing visual and ocular problems and improving visual care. Trains in one of the specialized clinical fields: pediatrics, rehabilitative vision, family practice, contact lens or geriatrics.

Functions as a health care practitioner at a UH optometry clinic diagnosing, treating and/or managing visual and ocular problems and improving visual care. Trains in one of the specialized clinical fields: pediatrics, rehabilitative vision, family practice, contact lens or geriatrics.
- Provides professional eyecare services to UH College of Optometry patients while training in specialized clinical field.
- Monitors and supervises patient care provided by students.
- Performs special clinical and research projects within field of specialization.
- Is on call on a rotation basis for ocular emergencies outside of normal clinic business hours.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
